Hot on the trail

Hi Ham Quite a bit of progress on two fronts, I see…….and enjoy !

Pauline Turner may have quite a bit to add to the Smith history, not least because the parents died quite young :- Thomas Alfred (50) in 1894 and Harriet Eleanor (54) in 1898 and Maurice was only 4 years old in Census of 1891.

For my part, I’m still hoping to find Raymond Trevor Smith – last heard of in Southampton where his mother Ethel died in 1987. So I may be going over there this summer and now I also fancy a trip in the opposite direction to Hollingbourne for a cup of tea and a nice chat with Pauline. Can you let me have her email address please.

You may also have heard that Pamela’s family history got me busy on the trail of Lilian May Locke and I have just had to send her another set of the certificates (the first lot went astray). Once she’s studied all this new information, I hope she will do a follow-up in the family warren. Meanwhile, her half-sister Joan (b 1941) may still be alive in Epsom and discreet enquiries are continuing. Regards Alan W
