I have just had another look at the photo of Prof Kohler & family on your website under 1930’s pic 294.

The baby in that photo is definitely the same as the “Walther” photo I sent you. I’ve just had a chat with mum and she remembers that Ruth’s son was Graeme (born in 1932 the same year as Ron) so Walther must be from another marriage of Prof Kohler.

Joan – Denny’s daughter from marriage to Lillian Locke. Mum said that Denny & Lillian married in their teens because she was pregnant but the first baby died. Then they had Joan but with the outbreak of war they just grew apart and Joan was raised by her grandparents. No one seems to have kept in touch with her.

Norah Lilian – Mum says she died of a cerebral hemorrhage

Thomas Samuel – Mum says he had swollen legs and was bedridden for quite some time before he died in 1957 but doesn’t know what he died of. Has no-one been able to find death certs?

Gran pa rabbit (referred to in Norah Lilian’s letter) was just that – an old rabbit.
