The Wedding Picture

I don’t have the original photo but I do have the marriage cert which supports version one above.

It looks like a Francesca ‘production’ with the bride using the Wimbledon address which Francesca shows on her Census 1911 return !

Certainly, Francesca is on the left holding one of her adopted children – maybe her favourite called Bubbles. The young man may be her adopted 14 year old son, Edward who is also a witness on marriage cert or he could be the Grooms younger brother, Arthur Albert Warren

The Women

I have the original of pic top left. This is Rosalie Berkeley Hamilton and she sent the card to her younger sister, Henrietta Bazine (Hamilton) Smith. On the reverse she writes ‘To Yetta with love from RBH Dec 1929′

I also have original of bottom left which adds to pencil note by saying on right hand side ‘taken at Hollingbourne Vicarage’ The reverse of this small card says its makers are ‘Clarke & Co of Maidstone, Kent’ and someone has noted that this is a pic of Henrietta.

Bottom right is Norah Lilian Hamilton Smith with her first son, Thomas Horace.

Top right might be Eugenia (Hamilton) Draper – the mother of Francesca, Rosalie & Henrietta but this is only a guess.

Details of Death

I have Norah Lilian’s death certificate which confirms above detail.

Thomas Samuel notified her death in Mayday Hospital and I have been told that as Norahs last home & the hospital were both adjacent to Croydon Crematorium, no money was spent on hearses!

I also have Thomas Samuels death certificate which shows he died in St Barts Hospital on 25 March 1957. He died in agony as he was poisoned by (1) URAEMIA (kidney failure) and (2) NEPHROTIC SYNDROME (liver failure) plus (3)rheumatic heart failure.

I guess that today problems (1) & (2) would be quickly identified by blood tests. Thomas is buried in un-marked grave S.265 in Epsom Downs Cemetery. I have a photo and have been told that his widow collected money for a headstone from family members but then did nothing.
